A really fun and original game concept that had me going for ages. Amazing work here! Seeing some of my buddies drop in to help beat up enemies was a real treat, and the gameplay loop was really enticing.

If I had to give any feedback at all, some more sound effects and maybe some epic battle music when things got more intense would've been cool -- but that's a small nitpick. Awesome work! <3

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

And yeah, it's not very strong on the music/content side, didn't have time to add it. Ideally I would have wanted more enemies, and ways to control your army. Maybe in a future version :)

this made me wet

BALLER PIXEL ART AND AWESOME MUSIC!

It took me a while to understand what I needed to do to score, but it was fun once I did!

A lovely little platformer with tight controls! It's simple, but good fun! The game could use a bit more juice and impact. Screenshake, more sounds, etc. Not too much of a dealbreaker, since the gameplay loop is fine. Reminds me a bit of Bloody Trapland.

My one recommendation would be to change to a crispier, bolder, bigger font. The default blurry font in these engines is always a bit of a low quality red flag, especially when the entire game is crisp pixel art and the text... well, isn't!

HelperWesley responds:

Thank you! I'm amazed you made the connection to bloody trap lands, that was part of the inspiration for game!

Now that you mention it, I totally agree. I could definitely use a different font, and maybe even make my own crisper text for the title screen, where the text is bigger and fixed. 🤔

The game looks awesome, sounds awesome and it's fun to shoot the enemies and try out the different upgrades! However, I didn't know there was a dodgeroll or a special for the longest time and I seemed to be doing fine without them. Maybe the first time you play, there should be text that popups every 10 seconds for the first two minutes like "press this to do this" and then it fades away, even if it isn't the best tutorial - just gives direction imo. And I can keep shooting while reloading (without projectiles coming out) and then continue firing once the gun is reloaded - I figure this is intentional, but it means that the shooting is a bit mindless. I'm just holding down left click 24/7 as bullets come endlessly, which takes away challenge. It's just a weird choice in a game where you have infinite bullets and a very short reload time - almost makes me feel as if you should be firing infinitely permanently.

Asides from that little gripe, the game is awesome ! Oh, and I think medals might be tweakin?? idk : p

Thx for checking krudshot cafe Step! A tutorial is really needed for this game, I've seen two videos where the player barely uses the abilities and special attacks. I might just increase the reloading time or just introduce a reloading mechanic. The NG API I'm using is a bit wonky and I'm considering changing it!
Thanks for playing!

Really fun, unique and DIFFICULT. I was physically sweating, changing between left clicking and back to my keyboard. I was looking forward to writing to a long critical review of the game as a sort of TEASE, but it would just be disingenuous - the game is genuinely a cool and lovely experience. I can't really think of anything I could've done better or in a different way, I hope you're really proud of this! <3

FutureCopLGF responds:

Aw, cheers for that! Glad it had the intended sweaty experience: love me a good challenge and I love to share that challenge. I had my face as scrunched up to defend against a retaliatory critique from ya, but I'm glad it all worked out! I am proud of it, but I'll keep my head on a swivel for future games I release!

The pixel art is adorable, the gameplay is addicting, the levels are challenging. I would have played this for days back on 2011 Newgrounds, and it's taking up my time even now! Spectacular work from the whole team. I can't stop bobbing my head to the banging tunes!

I wish I could of helped beta test, but I've been busy with uni stuff - that's not too much of an issue because the game came out pretty much flawless. If I had to give any criticism, is that the coins take too long to pick up after they are dropped and you hear all of Jeff's lines a bit too quickly, and then over and over again. Maybe either getting more lines or just having them play 25% as often. I also don't know if it's just me, but his volume is like 50% louder than the rest of the game sounds.
